I am an AI Engineer and Developer Advocate on Red Hat's AI team, working on agentic AI and inference optimization across the vLLM project suite. I studied computer science and AI in engineering school, with minors in math and game engineering, and worked as a software engineer before this. I care about open source and efficient AI applied where it is for advancement.

The Person Behind the Slides
Hey I am Grace Ableidinger. I'm an AI Engineer and Developer Advocate on Red Hat's AI team. I work on agentic AI and inference optimization across the vLLM project suite. Most of my time goes into engaging in open-source developer communities, educating on Red Hat AI products and the underlying technologies that power them, and learning about anything I can get my hands on.
AI is too important to be a black box, and the best work I have seen in this space happens in the open, where people can build on each other's ideas instead of around them. Working on vLLM and its ecosystem feels like a direct extension of that.
What pulls me in is AI where the impact is real and the cost is justified; robotics, scientific discovery, imaging, energy optimization, sustainability. Compute is not free, and neither is attention, so I think a lot about the difference between AI that meaningfully advances what humans can do and AI that exists mostly to be AI. That is also why inference optimization is so important to me. With limited hardware and energy resources, we need to learn to do more with less. Making models efficient is what makes ambitious applications possible in the first place.
I am new to this community and I am excited to read everything, ask questions, and stay close to the people who are building. The field moves fast, and I would much rather be learning at the edge of it than commenting from the sidelines. Have something cool to share? Or a potential collaboration? I'd love to hear about it!
Outside of work, you will find me doing a craft, hiking about, or blasting music in my obnoxiously sized over-ear headphones. I am personally passionate about game design and development, and I have a side interest in computer graphics and simulation.
If you are …
- interested in learning more about Red Hat AI
- working on inference, agents, applied AI for science or sustainability, open source, graphics and imaging, or game dev
- down to compare hiking routes or music recs
- eager to chat about anything
… I would love to hear from you.
